SAP Finance Lead

About the Role

BharatPe is seeking a highly skilled SAP Finance Lead to drive the E-Finance vertical for BharatPe and its subsidiaries. This role will focus on maintaining, developing, and integrating the SAP-based accounting platform, ensuring seamless financial operations and compliance with regulatory requirements. As an individual contributor, you will play a key role in optimizing financial processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to internal policies and controls.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Expertise

• Oversee day-to-day and month-end financial closing within the SAP accounting system.
• Manage and enhance the SAP accounting platform, ensuring smooth integration with business processes.
• Work closely with the SAP AMC vendor for system developments, general ledger management, access control, and periodic access reviews.
• Collaborate with the IT team to ensure system backup, disaster recovery (DR) drills, and overall system security.
• Conduct hygiene checks to ensure all processes align with applicable policies and compliance guidelines.
• Support statutory and internal audits, ensuring financial systems comply with IT general and specific controls.

Problem Solving & System Optimization

• Troubleshoot system-related issues and proactively implement enhancements to improve financial operations.
• Lead the development of new SAP modules, ensuring they align with evolving business needs.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to financial system failures, access discrepancies, and process inefficiencies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as a key liaison between finance, procurement, IT, and external auditors for seamless system operations.
• Engage with external vendors and auditors to ensure compliance with system upgrades and financial reporting requirements.
• Lead cross-functional projects focused on process automation, system optimization, and financial data accuracy.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education:
  • B.Tech/M.Tech with expertise in the SAP platform.
  • MBA in Finance (preferred but not mandatory).
• Experience:
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in SAP Finance roles.
  • 2-3 years of experience in startups or fintech companies (preferred).
• Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of SAP financial modules and system architecture.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional collaborations and vendor relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of financial processes, audit requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
